About The Band

Voice Of December
Formed in August 2008, Voice of December is here to put a new spin on the Metal/ Gothic genre.
Vocalist K Traci Ruin and Guitarist Rob Smith have a long history having been in the bands Dark Truth and Cell 13 together the later of which played many local and regional shows with acts as diverse as Judas Priest, Sammy Hager/David Lee Roth, Kings X, Dream Theater, Joe Satriani, LA Guns, Testament, and Type O Negative.
The band also welcomed former Dark Truth Bassist Ben Bunner who also played with Rob in the band Haddenfield, and Guitarist John Roberts also a Dark Truth/ Cell 13 alumni and who had played with Rob in the bands, Forewarned and Jaynestown.
The final piece of the puzzle was Drummer Don Ivie, a veteran of the California and UK music scenes.
Although the band was originally fronted by a female vocalist, the band learned after many lead singer changes that its best course would be to have Traci handle vocals and as he was already writing all the lyrics, this change came easily.
Late 2009 the band started recording what was to become it's debut CD "The Guest" but after almost completing the recording, Drummer Don Ivie had to undergo surgery on both wrists which halted everything. The band chose to wait for him to recover rather than move forward. After recovery, Don now playing pain free, chose to re-track all the drums he had recorded. This time the band also played live in the studio with Don to better capture the sound of their live shows.
October 2010 the band teamed exclusively with EW Enterprises & Pain Star Brand Gear & Clothing to do the art for their upcoming debut CD, titled "The Guest" and ALL their Art for the Website, Merchandising & Advertising.
For the remainder of 2010 the band continued to play shows and chip away at the recording.
January 2011 saw the band take a major step forward. Mysteria Records signed the band to an exclusive deal and will be distributing the CD worldwide. The bands debut CD, titled "The Guest" will be released in April 2011 and will contain 10 songs including, Things, Seven and the title track, The Guest.
April 2011 VoiceOfDecember.com is launched
April 2011 will also see the debut of a video for "The Guest" filmed and directed by Shawn Darling. Look for the band to be hitting the road in support of the CD throughout the remainder of 2011.
